Reference Timber frame house 1

This construction technique employs sturdy timber posts and beams assembled as a rigid framework.

The design evolves out of this framework, a rhythmic constructional pattern visible both inside and out.

The load-bearing structure is sized in such a way as to contribute to the building’s stability while providing a flexible template for design.

Interiors can be open and spacious in the same way that facades can be animated by an interplay of solid and void, as desired.

The post and beam system offers a more contemporary alternative to the wooden chalet and gives you the option of designing your own layout so you can make the most of the environment that surrounds you.

exterior wall features:

  • Outer leaf in 31 mm spruce cladding
  • Ventilated air gap
  • Rain barrier
  • Windbracing panels
  • 140 mm insulation layer
  • Choice of interior facing (wood, plasterboard, etc.)
